Connors named OTA chairman

TORONTO (Nov. 13, 2000) — Frank Connors, president of York Transportation Group in Brampton, Ont., has been appointed chairman of the Ontario Trucking Association.

The association chairman and other board members serve a two-year term.

Connors said he wants to champion membership and participation among smaller carriers. Connors is also a great believer in education and training, particularly in sales and marketing. He would like to see regular briefings of carrier sales staff on current issues affecting the industry. “If we can better arm our salespeople with information on such things as fuel costs, driver shortages and the like, then perhaps overall we can accomplish better pricing from the shippers,” he says.
