Contract awarded for new Montreal highway span

BOUCHERVILLE, Que. — Structal-Bridges, a division of Canam Group, has won the $30-million contract to build a new six-lane steel bridge over the Rivière des Prairies as well as three overpasses for the completion of Hwy. 25 in Montreal.

The bridge will be a main cable-stayed span about 1,640 feet (500 m) long.

“In recent years, we’ve invested time and money in the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment for our Quebec City plant so that it can handle projects of this magnitude,” says Robert Dutil, Structal-Bridges’ vice president and general manager.
