Cornwall’s Seaway sees way into the future
CORNWALL, ONT – – Another prominent carrier has embraced Generation-Next.
Seaway Express – – renowned across central Canada as the go-to guy for deliveries into the huge Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart DCs located in this eastern Ontario town – – has sent up a signal about the company’s future.
Seaway founder and President Bob Gauthier has announced that his daughter Melanie has joined the team as a sales-and-marketing representative.
“My gain,” Gauthier Sr. told todaystrucking.com proudly.
Ms Gauthier grew up around the family trucking business, holds a degree in journalism and business from Carleton University and she is also a member of Team Cornwall, a group of local business, political and community types who have banded together to promote the community as a place to live and conduct business.
Among Gauthier’s current projects: finding tenants who can make the best use of a six-acre piece of land situated between the huge DCs, right off the 401.
“The site,” Gauthier says, “can accommodate a 100,000 sq. ft. logistics operation, such as a cross-dock facility or distribution centre.”
