Covered flatbed option on Transcraft trailers

Transcraft Corp.
Transcraft Corp. and Aero Industries have joined together in offering trailer customers a covered flatbed option with the purchase of a new Transcraft trailer.

The Conestoga rolling tarp system easily converts a flatbed trailer into a fully covered van, yet allows the trailer to be loaded or unloaded from the back, overhead or either side. This combination of versatility and protection makes the Conestoga ideal for hauling steel, aluminum, lumber, building products, machinery, and other large and weather-sensitive cargo, the companies say.

The Conestoga’s unique locking mechanisms are entirely ground operated. A single turn of a handle locks and unlocks the system, and eliminates the need to climb on the trailer or hassle with cumbersome ratchets or straps to secure the tarp. It also features pressed bearing steel wheels that ride on the aluminum track’s stainless steel insert. The track also contains a built-in bump rail to protect the Conestoga during loading and unloading, and a rubber gasket to provide a weather tight seal.

Other features include uplift bows to maximize inside loading clearance; aluminum bulkheads with built-in wind deflectors to maximize tarp life and increase fuel mileage; and various rear-end options including curtains and swinging rear doors. Popular options include a DOT bulkhead and custom tarp graphics.
