CTA adds experienced lobbyist to Ottawa staff
OTTAWA (April 22) — The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has expanded its lobbying presence in Ottawa with the addition of Richard Cavanagh, a former senior Stentor manager. He takes the newly created position of director, public affairs and research. Cavanagh was previously national director, external relations, for the telephone company lobby group.
“Richard brings to CTA a wealth of experience and a proven track record in government and stakeholder relations,” says CTA chief executive officer David Bradley. “With the addition of Richard, the CTA team will now be even better able to not only manage the wide range of day-to-day issues of concern to the trucking industry but also expand CTA’s reach and profile in Ottawa.”
In addition to having lead responsibility for the labor file with CTA, Cavanagh, who holds a Ph.D. in Sociology, will also be responsible for developing co-operative relations with other associations and stakeholder groups.
