CTA publishes dangerous goods handbook
Canadian Trucking Alliance
With new federal dangerous goods regulations coming into force on Aug. 15, the Canadian Trucking Alliance has published a handbook for drivers called “Transporting Dangerous Goods by Truck.” The $12 guide ($10 if you belong to a provincial trucking association) explains the new rules easily and comprehensively, and covers emergency response procedures and requirements for hauling dangerous goods between Canada and the United States. A French language version of the guidebook will be available soon.
The guidebook can also be used to supplement in-house carrier training programs or classes offered by the CTA’s affiliated trucking associations. An instructor’s manual has been published, and Internet-based training will be available soon, the CTA says.
