Cummins’s Roberto Cordaro announces resignation
COLUMBUS, Ind. (Sept.. 22, 1999) — Roberto Cordaro, president of Cummins Engine Co.’s automotive and heavy-duty engine business, will resign on Oct. 1 to pursue other interests, the company said. .
Cordaro, who joined Cummins 21 years ago as director of marketing of its Brazilian operation, led the automotive business unit to sales of $2.9 billion in 1998. The division, which is responsible for heavy-duty and medium-duty diesel engines, is the company’s largest.
Cordaro oversaw development of Cummins’s current line of electronically controlled diesel engines, which includes the Signature 600 engine, the ISX, ISL, and ISM. He said the launch of the engine family provides the right opportunity to leave.
A replacement has not been announced.
