CVSA releases 2002 out-of-service criteria
BETHESDA, Md. (April 3, 2002) — The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has published a 2002 edition of its North American standard out-of-service criteria, which identify violations that render a commercial vehicle or its driver a hazard to the public.
The CVSA is an association of commercial vehicle law enforcement agencies in North America. The out-of-service criteria represent a standard for truck and bus inspectors across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. There are six types of inspections covering the vehicle, driver, radioactive cargo, and special circumstances.
CVSA has packaged the inspection criteria in a spiral-bound handbook, which it sells for $32 US. For more information, contact CVSA at 301/564-1623.
