DaimlerChrysler signs deal to put Jake Brakes on 2007 engine lineup
BLOOMFIELD, Conn, — Jacobs Vehicle Systems has been selected to supply its popular Jake Brake engine brakes for DaimlerChrysler’s next generation Global Heavy Duty Engine Platform.
Building upon their long-term relationship with DaimlerChrysler’s North American engine subsidiary Detroit Diesel Corp., Jacobs is partnering with DaimlerChrysler to supply an integrated Jake Brake system to the NAFTA, Europe, and Japanese markets.
“We are extremely pleased with the relationship between Jacobs Vehicle Systems and DaimlerChrylser,” Dave Smith, vice-president of engineering for Jacobs Vehicle Systems says. “Working with DaimlerChrysler from the earliest stages has led to a benchmark product meeting of all voices of the customer requirements”.
The Jake Brake product line is used by all North American heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturers as well as Hino, Daewoo, Hyundai and Mitsubishi in Asia, Renault V.I. and DAF in Europe.
