Dana Spicer plant in Thorold, Ont., honored for quality standards
TOLEDO, Ohio (Oct. 3, 2001) — Dana Corp.’s Spicer driveshaft plant in Thorold, Ont., earned the prestigious Canada Awards for Excellence, the country’s highest honor for quality.
The annual awards program recognizes Canadian organizations that have effectively transformed themselves to become more efficient, expand market share, provide employment opportunities, and enhance international competitiveness. The Malcolm Baldrige Award is the United States’ equivalent of the Canada Awards for Excellence.
Dana was the only company to be honored twice with the award — its structural products group also earned one of the five trophies presented this year. It also marked the first time that the awards were presented to a company from the automotive sector.
