International Truck and Engine now offers ZFMeritor’s FreedomLine transmission, a fully automated mechanical transmission with a “no clutch pedal” design, on International 9200i, 9400i, 9900I, and 9900ix model vehicles.

Meritor WABCO’s pneumatic brake control valve package is now an option on Freightliner Century Class, Columbia, Argosy and Coronado vehicles. Included in the package are quick release valves, dual circuit foot valves, dash valves, tractor protection valves, spring brake control valves, relay valves, check valves, and trailer hand brake valves.

Freightliner will offer Webasto’s Air Top 2000 auxiliary air heater (right) as a published databook option for its Century, Columbia, and Coronado models. The Air Top 2000 provides 7000 Btu/h of sleeper heat without idling and up to 20 hours of heat on one gallon of fuel.

Kenworth will offer a factory-installed, infrared thermal imaging system based on Bendix’s XVision technology for its class-8 trucks. The system, which includes a thermal imaging camera mounted outside the vehicle and a high-resolution, flat-panel video monitor inside the cab (above), allows drivers to see images of obstacles up to 1500 feet away despite low light. The option costs about $4000 US.

Intra Technologies has developed a low-voltage disconnect for Thermo King temperature-control units. The product will be supported through Thermo King dealers in North America.

New options for Peterbilt’s model 330 include Allison 2000 and 2400 series five-speed, automatic transmissions, a Reyco heavy-duty auxiliary helper spring rated at 4500 pounds, and, when applicable, a Bosch axle-mounted parking brake.
