Day & Ross buys regional carrier

TRURO, N.S. (April 30,2004) — The Day & Ross Transportation Group has acquired 30-unit truckload, flat bed, and auto carrier, which will be folded into the company’s Fastrax Transportation division.

Day & Ross president John Doucet said in a press release that the acquisition of Truro-based Oceanside Carriers will compliment the company’s point-to-point Fastrax arm in Nova Scotia, strengthening regional bases.

He said Oceanside will continue to be operated separately, under the management of former owner Lyle Davidson.
