Day & Ross gets new digs
SAINT JOHN, — The McCain Group of Companies is building a new $3 million transportation hub for its Day & Ross and Sameday Right-O-Way trucking and courier divisions.
The company says that recent business growth has made it difficult to keep the carriers at their current Fairville Blvd. location.
The company has now acquired a six-and-a-half acre site in the Spruce Lake Industrial Park in Saint John West to build the new terminal.
The new terminal will include 3,100 square feet of office space and 12,200 square feet of dock space with 32 doors and 27 trailer parking spaces. The existing terminal has only 15 doors.
“We are doubling our trailer parking spaces and including more dock space. It will be a modern facility that will allow us to meet the needs of our growing customer base and increase the efficiency of our daily operations,” said John Doucet, Day & Ross Transportation Group president.
Construction is expected to be complete next January.
