Dedicated FAST lanes open at Blue Water Bridge
SARNIA, Ont. (Feb. 13, 2004) — The Blue Water Bridge along with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Port Huron, Mich. has announced that Free and Secure Trade (FAST)-registered drivers moving freight for C-TPAT approved carriers can utilize the designated FAST lanes on the approach and the bridge deck as well as the FAST booth at CBP primary inspection.
Utilization of the FAST program at the Blue Water Bridge has gained significant momentum as daily FAST volumes have risen from 2 per cent in early January to close to 10 per cent of total U.S.-bound commercial traffic in the early weeks of February.
C-TPAT certified carriers using FAST registered drivers are encouraged to contact Stan Korsec at 519336-2720 at the Blue Water Bridge for more information on the Placarding program in effect at the bridge.
