Demand for van trailers stalls in February, full steam ahead for others
COLUMBUS, Ind. — ACT Research reports van trailer orders were down in February, but all other types of trailers saw an increase in order activity.
Net orders for van trailers fell 32% compared to January, while all other trailer types recorded a 31% increase month-over-month.
The latest State of the Industry: US Trailers report noted the differences were “striking.”
“Backlogs have risen to the highest level during this recovery cycle and the strongest order board since August 2006,” reported Frank Maly, director, CV transportation with ACT Research. “We expect to see a gradual growth path in production during the next six months.”
