Dorsey suspends operations
ATLANTA (Nov. 29, 2000) — Financially troubled Dorsey Trailers suspended operations at its three manufacturing plants yesterday, saying it wanted to “review its options.”
“Bankruptcy is a distinct possibility,” Dorsey CEO John L. Pugh said in a statement.
The company has factories in Elba, Ala., Cartersville, Ga., and Dillon, S.C. Some limited production will take place in order to finish trailers that are near completion.
“We expect this evaluation process to be completed quickly,” Pugh said.
