DYNOmite Dynamometer

Automobile engine dynamometer producer Land & Sea has introduced its DYNOmite “Pro” diesel dynamometers, which are said to provide much more than your basic horsepower and torque curves.

Their 16-inch heavy-duty water brake and high-flow engine load control are capable of testing diesel engines up to 800 horsepower. The system uses DYNO-MAX 2000 “Pro” software, which can automatically start the engine and break it in while mapping its fuel curve, BMEP, friction losses, and mechanical efficiency, until finishing with a multi-page graphical test report printout.

Additional engineering caliber features include full inertia compensation, user editable formulas, semi-auto zeroing transducers, configurable alarms, conditional test control logic, atmospheric correction, individually adjustable channel dampening, tunable spike filtering, and multiple run overlaying (with optional averaging). DYNOmite systems also support third-party devices like exhaust gas analyzers and air/fuel ratio modules.
