Eaton enhances Reman tranny; raises warranty
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Eaton Corp. says it has increased the availability and coverage of its Reman transmissions through the addition of a new FLEX Reman line.
Eaton also raised the standard warranty coverage of its entire heavy-duty Reman transmission portfolio to two years for linehaul and 18 months for vocational applications within U.S. and Canada.
"Through certain design changes, we are able to present dealers a flexible inventory of 10 models that meet 80 percent of the market need," said Bill Fouch, aftermarket marketing manager for Eaton’s Truck business in North America.
The FLEX Reman transmissions differ from Eaton’s standard Reman transmissions in three key ways:
No clutch housing (shipped with new gasket); standard shift bar housing (forward shift bar housing available); and cover a range of torque.
"Because dealers will have the ability to stock several key FLEX Reman models that cover a range of torque and are not specific in clutch housing, they automatically increase the number of Eaton Fuller models they can replace same day," notes Fouch. “It’s a win-win for the dealer and fleet: Dealers don’t waste time searching and waiting for units, and fleets benefit from immediate service that gets them back to making money – instead of spending it – sooner."
Should a dealer not have a standard Reman or FLEX Reman unit in stock, same and next-day delivery is offered through the Roadranger Logistic Network.
As well, Eaton is now offering extended protection plans for additional coverage beyond the increased standard warranties of two years for linehaul applications and 18 months for vocational applications.
