Eaton names HD transmissions division boss
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Truck systems manufacturer Eaton Corp. has appointed Curt Hutchins to vice-president and president of the Heavy Duty Transmission Division, effective April 1.
Hutchins had been vice president and general manager of Eaton’s Clutch Division, which “grew substantially” in the three years he led the unit, said James E. Sweetnam, Truck Group president. “He led a very significant restructuring of the Clutch business model during the past two years and has brought focus to key global opportunities.”
Prior to his Clutch position, Hutchins served as general manager of Eaton’s Automated and Fleet Transmission Products business unit, part of the Heavy Duty Transmission Division. Hutchins joined Eaton in 2003 from Waterpik Technologies, where he served as vice president of operations.
With 2006 sales of $2.5 billion, Eaton’s Truck Group is a global leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of powertrain systems and components for commercial vehicles.
