FedEx enhances Web-based shipping system
MONTREAL — Federal Express Canada Ltd. has added bilingual capabilities to its Web-based freight-tracking system, FedEx interNetShip 4.0. FedEx interNetShip 4.0 resides at www.fedex.ca in Canada, and www.fedex.com internationally.
FedEx interNetShip allows customers to complete necessary shipping documentation online and obtain a unique package tracking number.
Besides the accessibility of FedEx interNetShip 4.0 in French and English, there are other enhancements with the update:
> Quick Login: A “time-saving” feature which automatically recalls and enters the users ID and FedEx account number.
> Future Day Shipping: Responding to consumer demands, FedEx has added an enhancement which gives customers the ability to process shipments eight days in advance.
> Expanded Default Settings: FedEx customers can set default controls to have frequently used shipping data such as service and payment type, flow automatically. Customers can also tailor shipping information for each recipient in their “address book” by filling out the default shipping information section.
The service has more than 150,000 registered users since its introduction. It was developed as a complement to FedEx’s real-time package status tracking systems and automated customs clearance services.
