FedEx Freight to deliver next-day on lanes up to 900 miles

MEMPHIS (June 5, 2002) — FedEx Freight, the regional less-than-truckload subsidiary of FedEx Corp., has expanded its next-day reach to include guaranteed next-day delivery within certain 900-mile lanes.

The new program, FedEx Freight Next Day Plus, is in conjunction with the official re-branding of the FedEx Freight operating companies, formerly American Freightways and Viking Freight, now called FedEx Freight East and FedEx Freight West, respectively.

FedEx Freight Next Day Plus, which kicks off June 10, is a money-back guaranteed service that commits to next-business-day delivery up to 900 miles in certain lanes within the company’s 42-terminal network.

FedEx Freight West, meanwhile, announced FedEx Freight EZ Guaranteed, day-definite delivery to all points FedEx Freight West serves directly. If delivery commitments aren’t met, the customer will receive a zero-dollar invoice. Additionally, FedEx Freight West is introducing a new expedited, emergency freight service.
