Firms unite to create logistics group

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Rock City Cartage, Sherway Warehousing, and Sherway Logistics have combined to form the Sherway Group — an asset-based, full service, customized logistics and supply chain solution provider based in Mississauga, Ont.

"Our new identity repositions our three companies as a cross-divisional collaboration in supply chain management," says founder Paul Rockett. "Customers today are looking for more than great service at a good price. They need a partner to provide them with reliable single source solutions."

This year, Sherway Warehousing celebrates 30 years in business and Rock City Cartage marks its 15 year anniversary.

The Sherway Group has grown from 18,000 sq ft, with 15 power units and 2 employees 30 years ago, to over 1 million sq ft, 75 trucks and 250 employees today.

Sherway Warehousing focuses on warehousing and distribution solutions for food and beverage and consumer products, while Sherway Logistics helps clients create effective and efficient supply chain business plans that meet their needs.

For over 15 years, Rock City Cartage has been providing asset-based transportation within Ontario for a multitude of international and domestic customers including freight forwarders, warehousing and 3PL companies.
