Flying truck parts cause another serious accident
TORONTO, Ont. (July 22) -Two passing motorists helped save a woman’s life after a piece of metal came off a transport truck, flew threw her windshield and pierced her arm and artery, Ontario Provincial Police said. It is the second serious accident involving flying truck parts in Southern Ontario in two weeks.
The Toronto Sun reported a nurse and her husband were among several people that came to the woman’s aid at the accident scene on Hwy. 401 in Toronto. Police said that without the nurse’s expertise the unconscious woman may have bled to death. There was no word on the truck or its driver at press time.
Two weeks ago, a Toronto man was killed instantly on Hwy. 401 near Kitchener when a truck tire flew off a U.S.-based truck and hit the windshield of the man’s minivan.
