Fraser Surrey Docks Access for Trucks Changing Soon

VANCOUVER, BC — As part of the Robson-Timberland Road Connector Project, access to Fraser Surrey Docks, Gunderson Road, Alaska Way and Robson Road via Elevator Road from Hwy 17 (South Fraser Perimeter Road) will be closed beginning Jan. 31, 2016, according to the British Columbia Trucking Association.

On this date, the primary route re-aligns traffic into Fraser Surrey Docks and surrounding roadways via the Tannery Road Interchange.

To ensure smooth transition to the permanent traffic pattern changes, Port Metro Vancouver asks carriers to please note the following key changes.

Jan. 11, 2016:

Access to and from the Tannery Road Interchange will be opened and made accessible; and

All container drayage truck drivers destined for Fraser Surrey Docks will be required to pull into the newly provisioned Fraser Surrey Docks Vehicle Access Control System (VACS) lane for reservation and TLS validation.

Jan. 31, 2016:

Primary Access to and from Fraser Surrey Docks, Robson Road, Gunderson Road and Alaska Way will be via the “Tannery Interchange;”

“New” Fraser Surrey Docks container truck queue lane has been established on the south side of Robson Road; and

Access to and from Elevator Road to Highway 17 (SFPR) will be closed by the Ministry of Transportation.
