Fredericton diverts trucks away from city
FREDERICTON, N.B. — City councilors in Fredericton want to delete the current truck route designation.
According to the Daily Gleaner, Main and Union streets from Douglas Avenue to St. Mary’s Street will no longer be designated truck routes. It’s possible for trucks to make a right turn from Union Street to St. Mary’s Street, however.
Eventually, commercial traffic will be accommodated by the Ring Road and St. Mary’s Street system, states a report from the city’s traffic engineer.
Local deliveries will still be permitted in the area, though.
