Freightliner focuses on fleets for used truck sales
PORTLAND, Ore. (May 28, 2001) — Freightliner LLC, saddled with an overabundance of used trucks, has created a used-truck retail sales group dedicated to serving truck fleets.
The group will work with Freightliner LLC’s SelecTrucks used-truck retail outlets, as well as the truckmaker’s Freightliner Trucks, Sterling, and Western Star dealers to prospect fleet customers for late-model trade-ins.
Bill Gordon, president of Freightliner’s business unit responsible for the company’s used-truck operations, said the group will serve fleets that do not have an existing used-truck relationship with a SelecTrucks Center or a dealer.
