Fresh tracking system

FreshTrak
FreshTrak of Boynton Beach, Fla. has introduced a vehicle tracking and reporting system that gives shippers and customers real-time location and temperature information on their shipments.

The system, incorporates an advanced Global Positioning System receiver for location determination, a programmable temperature probe for constant temperature-range monitoring, a two-way wireless data link to an extensive cellular-based communications network, and an Internet site that serves as a fleet tracking information center for both transporter and retailer.

Each refrigerated trailer is equipped with FreshTrak’s FT 200 unit, a small, easily installed device which houses the12-channel GPS receiver, microcomputer and data communications receiver/transmitter. The temperature probe feeds data from the interior of the trailer to the FT 200, which can be polled every one, two or three hours and which can automatically send an alert notification via email, digital pager or text-enabled cell phone if the load temperature is compromised. Using the Cellemetry cellular telephone control channel data network, shipments can be tracked, polled and monitored throughout the continental United States, and much of Canada and Mexico.

An entire trip log, complete with temperature graph and location data, can be downloaded from the Internet at any time during shipment. Shipments are easily added, updated or deleted via the Internet, and viewed by both shipper/supplier and receiver/customer throughout the entire delivery process.
