Gershenhorn named UPS Canada president

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (Jan. 24, 2002) — Alan Gershenhorn has been named president of UPS Canada, responsible for the courier giant’s operations in this country.

Gershenhorn replaces Scott Corrigan, who left to manager of UPS’s U.S. Midwest region based in Columbus, Ohio.

Gershenhorn, a 23-year veteran of UPS, was most recently a vice-president in the UPS Corporate Strategy Group, responsible for the company’s retail strategy and operations. He also managed the global transition and integration of recently acquired Mail Boxes Etc., and has extensive experience in international marketing.

“Understanding the complexities of international trade is paramount in business today,” says Gershenhorn. “Given our extensive capabilities in cross border shipping, customs brokerage and supply chain management, my primary goal will be to help customers in Canada realize greater business potential by tapping the right resources.
