Gigou named chief executive at Volvo Trucks North America
STOCKHOLM (June 15, 2001) — Michel Gigou, president and chief executive of Mack Trucks since 1996, has been named president of Volvo Trucks North America, effective next month.
Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks are units of Volvo Global Trucks, based in Sweden.
Paul Vikner will replace Gigou as president of Mack. Vikner will report to the president of Volvo Global Trucks and be a member of the management team, Volvo said in a press release.
Vikner was formerly executive vice-president of sales and marketing at Mack.
Karl Erling-Trogen, senior vice president at AB Volvo, has been acting president and CEO at Volvo Trucks North America since February, when Marc Gustafson resigned.
