Give Slips the Boot

Looking for better footing this winter? Most anti-slip devices are accessories that attach to your boots, and as a result they can come loose and be awkward to use. Laitosjalkine Oy, a Finnish shoe manufacturer, has developed a new type of winter footwear designed to improve your grip on ice and snow. Each sole of the company’s Laja Icego line of shoes has a permanent, metal anti-slip device that swivels under the heel. It’s easy to engage or disengage with the tip of the other shoe, and it’s light so it doesn’t add to the weight of the shoe. The device is available on winter work boots with a steel toecap.
