Global express giant joins Canadian, Latin ops
PLANTATION, Fla. — The Canadian arm of the world’s leading express delivery and logistics company is being merged with the firm’s South American business.
DHL has announced its strategy to combine two regions in the Americas — DHL’s divisions in Canada and Latin America — to form DHL Express International Americas.
Roger Crook was CEO of DHL Latin America when the two regions merged; he is now heading the newly united region as CEO of DHL Express International Americas.
“Canada is a region of great importance for our business in the Americas. One of my primary goals is to fully maximize its potential together with that of Latin America, to turn International Americas into an even more profitable region, through extensive market growth and by maintaining our already stable position as global leaders,” said Crook.
“I have no doubt that the unification of these two regions will significantly boost the quality of service we provide to all our customers. While it will enable us to develop our entire team with the best practices and experiences from both Canada and Latin America,” added the executive.
Crook also highlighted the successful administration by former DHL Express Canada President, Ken Allen, who significantly increased profitability. Allen now moves to the role of CEO of DHL Express Emerging Markets, which includes five sub-regions throughout the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to being in charge of the Latin America region, Crook led DHL’s Global Customer Solutions (GCS), driving it to become a pivotal element in DHL’s express and logistics business.
