Goodyear Canada buys 49% of Beverly Tire
TORONTO (Jan. 6) — Goodyear Canada plans to buy 49% of Beverly Tire, a privately owned chain of 12 commercial, retail, and retread tire outlets in southern Ontario. The price was not disclosed.
Goodyear Canada was looking for a retail and wholesale partner to strengthen its distribution in various pockets of Ontario, said John Howard, vice-president, Central Region, Goodyear Canada.
“This partnership allows us to fill some distribution gaps in markets where we wanted to increase our presence,” he said. “In addition, we anticipate a substantial increase in market share in Southern Ontario.”
The purchase is expected to be complete later this month. Until then, Beverly Tire’s outlets will primarily sell and service a complete line of Goodyear products as well as Goodyear Associate Brands including Star and Concorde.
Beverly Tire has locations in Orillia, Bolton, Concord, Guelph, Flamborough, Hamilton, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, and Brantford.
