Gordon Hellowell hired to oversee Volvo, Mack integration in Canada

GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 13, 2002) — Gordon Hellowell, the former vice-president of Mack Canada, has been hired by Volvo Trucks North America to guide the integration Mack and Volvo operations in Canada.

Hellowell, who most recently served as chief executive officer of Mack Trucks Australia in Brisbane, has been named vice-president of Canadian support and integration. He will be based in Mississauga, Ont., and will report to Volvo Trucks North American president Michel Gigou.

Two years ago, the Swedish parent of Volvo Trucks announced plans to buy the truck unit of Renault V.I. of France, which produces trucks under the Renault and Mack brands, in a swap for stock worth $1.58 billion US.
