Grocery deliverer opens its gates

TORONTO,Ont. (July 19)- Grocery Gateway announced that it has acquired Direct Home Delivery, a truck fleet division of Direct Right Cartage Ltd. and Skulogix, a Toronto-based inventory optimization software and e-commerce fulfillment service.

Direct Home Delivery’s business will be integrated into Grocery Gateway’s existing operations, while Skulogix will operate as anindependent subsidiary of Grocery Gateway. Terms of the acquisition of Direct Home Delivery were not disclosed, while the acquisition of Skulogix Inc. was completed through the issuance of Grocery Gateway stock.

Direct Home Delivery operates third party delivery services in most urban areas in Canada including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary.

As part of the agreement, Direct Home Delivery will move its Toronto facility to Grocery Gateway’s new 280,000-square-foot facility at Downsview Park, but will still operate separate fleets of delivery trucks.
