Hankook Offers Young Hockey Players Chance of a Lifetime
CALGARY — Have any hockey players aged eight to 12 around the house? Click here. The athletes could win some really swell swag plus a chance to play a game or two with a few giants of the sport. What’s more, we bet that once you find out what the prizes are, you’ll want to go with them!
Hancook Tire Canada, which is the official tire company for Hockey Canada, has invited young hockey players to submit a short essay or video explaining why they deserve to “Practice Like A Pro.”
The deadline for entries is Tuesday, Dec. 6.
Then, on Dec. 12, 27 of the entrants will join former Calgary Flame Theoren Fleury and 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist Meghan Mikkelson for an on-ice session at Calgary’s Winsport Arena.
The youngsters will skate and shoot around Hankook tires while practising with the pros, plus they’re in for a range of goodies that include autographed jerseys, stickers and souvenir pucks.
The winners will also be taken on a full tour of the Winsport Athletic Centre to see the Team Canada dressing room, audio centre and team lounge.
The Winsport facilities house the 2012 World Junior Championship practices and the head office of Hockey Canada.
A signing ceremony, Q&A session and complementary tickets to the Team Canada Red versus White game will also be given to all participants and their parents.
“We are proud to be hosting this event, it’s a unique opportunity to give our young players a chance to practice with some of Hockey’s greats,” said Bill Hume, Vice President, Hankook Tire Canada.
“We look forward to a great day with all the players in December.”
As the National Partner and the Official Tire of Hockey Canada, Hankook Tire Canada actively supports grassroots sports and contributes back to local communities.
