Hard Work, Stable Relationships Nets Ayr Award

WOODSTOCK, NB — Purolator has awarded Ayr Motor Express “2012 Long-Haul Carrier of the Year,” Ayr announced today.

The award is based on a carrier’s on-time performance, peak season performance and customer service. Carriers are also measured on fuel efficiency, security, contingency plans, and safety and performance standards.

Ayr, which has terminals in Woodstock, Mississauga and Winnipeg, moved over 2600 loads on behalf of Purolator in 2012.

Ayr president and CEO Joe Keenan attributed the award to taking their business seriously and good old hard work.

“We work harder and the result is a strong partnership such as the one we have with Purolator Inc. In a business to business relationship when a customer has confidence in the service provider it is to the benefit of both.”

Stable business partnerships aren’t only good for the bottom line, but for the entire economy, Keenan added.

“Consumers and the business community know the importance of receiving goods in quality condition, in a timely manner. The customer is never disappointed so this results in repeat business.”

Ayr, a family-run carrier with a staff of 430, is number 62 on Today’s Trucking’s “2013 Top 100 For-Hire Carriers.”
