High-capacity Thermo King Reefer
Thermo King’s latest refrigeration unit, the SB-400, is designed to provide high cooling capacity at low temperatures and quick temperature pull-down.
Equipped with the company’s S-391 screw-compressor, the SB-400 uses twin rotor screws to compress the refrigerant and achieve its capacity. An extra suction port capacity-booster helps generate even higher capacity for deep-frozen loads. The S-391 screw compressor has 80 per cent fewer moving parts than reciprocating compressors. The result is less maintenance and unmatched performance, the company says: at an ambient temperature of 37°C, the SB-400 delivers 60,000 Btu/hour at 1°C; 40,000 Btu/hour at -18°C, and 30,000 Btu/hour at -30°C.
The SB-400 is available with an array of options, including Thermo King’s exclusive PrimAir bulkhead and unique FlexAir duct system, which distributes conditioned air to all corners of the cargo to ensure total temperature management.
