Integrated INTRAAX for autohaulers and drop-frames
Hendrickson International
Hendrickson has unveiled the INTRAAX AANLS 20K, an integrated suspension system for autohaulers, drop-frame vans, electronics trailers, and high-cube pup trailers.
Drawing on patented INTRAAX tapered-beam technology and design, Hendrickson developed a short-beam system in a capacity of 20,OOO-pounds that retains all of the INTRAAX durability and low maintenance advantages, while delivering an air ride package that is more than120 pounds per axle lighter than comparable suspensions. Scheduled for production launch in early 2003, this lighter weight tapered-beam technology allows haulers to carry more on each run, the company says.
Offered in ride heights from 6.25 to 12 inches, the AANLS provides a compact package ideal for the tight confines of the autohauler and drop- frame trailer designs. In addition, the system offers the choice of 16.5-inch brakes or the smaller 15-inch brake configuration needed for 19.5-inch tires.
The AANLS provides all of the features of the patented INTRAAX including the industry’s
first standard Cam Tube System that enhances S-cam alignment and extends brake bushing
life and Hendrickson’s neutral-toe axle that improves tire life and fuel mileage.
The industry’s first integrated suspension – axle – brake system, INTRAAX provides a rigid
axle/beam connection combined with the proven Tri-Functional Bushing, resulting in an ideal combination of ride softness and stability. Standard Quick-Align delivers fast, easy, accurate axle alignment, the company says.
A variety of Ready -To-Roll options such as long-life wheel ends including HUS, Hendrickson’s unitized hub system with a seven-year limited warranty, and HXS extended service brakes, which allow fleets and owner-operators to customize their systems.
Hendriksnon’s value Package option makes wheel-end spec’ing easy by matching extended-service hub assemblies with configurations meeting the broad needs of fleets, the company says. Ductile iron and aluminum hub products provide additional low-cost lightweight options.
