Interational names Lewis Motor Sales dealer of the year, the first time a Canadian has won the award

BURLINGTON, Ont (May 30, 2002) — International Truck and Engine named Lewis Motor Sales as its North American dealer of the year for 2001, the first time a Canadian company has won the award.

Lewis Motor Sales operates dealerships in Barrie, Collingwood, and North Bay, Ont., plus associate dealers in Mattawa, Huntsville, and New Liskeard and a leasing facility in Markdale. The company has been an International dealer for almost 40 years, and owner Dale Lewis said some customer relationships span more than 35 years.

The dealerships in Collingwood and North Bay opened in August 2001 and are the largest in their areas. A grand opening at the North Bay facility will take place June 7 and 8.

The International dealer of the year award is based on a number of performance criteria, including customer satisfaction surveys, sales, and market share.

International is North America’s second-largest producer of heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles, and has the largest truck sales and service network in Canada and the United States with nearly 1000 dealers. It also builds diesel engines and aftermarket parts.
