IRD wins Illinois weigh-in-motion contract

SASKATOON, Sask. (Aug. 3, 2000) — International Road Dynamics Inc. has received a $1.7 million US contract from the Illinois Dept. of Transportation to install 14 automated Weigh In Motion systems throughout the state.

In a news release, IRD said it expects to complete the contract by the end of this year. The company will design and install the WIM systems, which automatically weigh and sort trucks by their weights and dimensions, thus targeting only those trucks that are suspected of violations to stop and report for further inspections.
