Jack Meli named publisher of Today’s Trucking, highwaySTAR, and Transport Routier
TORONTO (August 27, 2001) — New Communications Group has named Jack Meli publisher of Today’s Trucking, highwaySTAR, and Transport Routier magazines.
Meli formerly was senior publisher and director of sales and marketing for Southam Magazine & Information Group, Canada’s largest newspaper and magazine companies. He managed two of Southam’s most successful magazines, Canadian Consulting Engineer and Cabling Systems, the latter of which Meli launched in 1997.
“Jack’s strong management background will be of great value to our company,” said James B. Glionna, president of New Communications Group. “He’s demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to develop new business that will be appreciated here.”
Meli also will oversee the Internet-related activities of all three publications.
Today’s Trucking magazine is the leading business publication for Canada’s trucking industry, reaching nearly 30,000 subscribers. highwaySTAR, distributed at truck stops across the country, is the only national magazine in Canada written exclusively for truck drivers. A French-language magazine, Transport Routier is written for truck fleet managers and owner-operators in Quebec.
