Kentucky Trailer names new pres, CEO
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Trailer, one of North America’s longest-established custom trailer manufacturers, has named Gary A. Smith Sr. as president and CEO.
In addition, William Tway, great-grandson of company founder R.C. Tway, has been appointed to the position of senior vice-president for sales, marketing and business development. Smith and Tway will assume the day-to-day responsibilities of their respective positions immediately.
Smith, and Tway’s appointments return Kentucky Trailer to active family management. The company began operations in 1936 as the Kentucky Wagon Co., and for most of its 70-plus year history has been led by a member of the Tway family. Today, Kentucky Trailer is a leading manufacturer of custom trailers for the moving and storage industry, as well as many other large Fortune 500 companies.
