Kenworth latest OEM to offer extended warranty on EGR engine

For a limited time, Kenworth is providing a Cummins extended warranty to U.S. and Canadian customers at no additional charge. To qualify, customers must purchase a Kenworth heavy duty truck powered by either a Cummins ISX or ISM 2002 EPA-certified engine between Oct. 1, 2002, and Jan. 31, 2003 for Kenworth’s T600, T800, W900, T2000 and C500 models.

Under the Cummins protection plan, buyers of new Kenworth on-highway vehicles will receive a 3-year, 300,000-mile extended warranty at no charge. That is above the current base coverage of 2 years, 250,000 miles. The extended coverage offers protection from fan hub to flywheel, including all cooled EGR subsystem components and variable geometry turbocharger.

The Cummins base warranty provides buyers with 5-year, 500,000-mile standard coverage for major engine components, including all major castings and forgings.
