Kenworth polishes stainless steel air cleaner

Kenworth is now offering a Donaldson highly polished SST stainless steel air cleaner, available with the exclusive bright-finished air-cleaner fairings on the W900 model.

David Warren, Kenworth product marketing manager, said the product will help improve operating efficiency through increased flow through the truck’s air intake system. Compared to other premium air cleaners, air flow is increased by 25 per cent and dust capturing capacity is 5 per cent higher with the new Donaldson air cleaner. The air cleaner removes more contaminants flowing through the air intake system, increases engine performance and fuel efficiency, and provides an additional level of truck engine protection from harmful contaminants, the company said.

The new highly polished SST air cleaner weighs less than competing premium air cleaners. It also includes a twist and lock cover design that makes for easier access and servicing. In addition, surface fastening bolts are removed from view. Donaldson’s RadialSeal technology uses pressure-loaded urethane to hold the filter firmly in the air cleaner housing to maintain a tight seal. The filter is self-aligning and self-sealing, which makes the air cleaner easy to service, the company says.
