Know a friendly neighbourhood highwaySTAR?

TORONTO, (Sept. 3, 2003) — Today’s Trucking’s sister publication for owner-operators is looking for nominees for the first ever highwaySTAR of the Year Award.

highwaySTAR magazine is asking industry people to nominate owner-operators who they believe truly deserve such an award. The ideal candidate should be someone dedicated to professionalism, with a clean driving record and a clear commitment to safety and fuel efficiency. Possibly a person who gives something back, who is more involved in his or her industry and community than is utterly necessary. The magazine is looking to “recognize the whole person, not just the one at the wheel.”

This true “highwaySTAR” will be honored during the Truck World 2004 show on April 22 to 24, 2004, at the International Centre in Toronto.

Just a few of the prizes the winner will receive include: $10,000; travel and accommodations for two to Toronto during Truck World 2004; an Espar heater system; special-edition leather highwaySTAR jacket with winners name; laptop with CTHRC’s Owner-Operator business skills course on CD; and an opportunity to participate in a truck test with highwaySTAR editors Jim Park or Rolf Lockwood.
