Laurels for Bison: Carrier’s innovative programs recognized

WINNIPEG — One of Canada’s most forward-thinking for-hire fleets garnered even more accolades recently; this time from the Supply Chain & Logistics Association (SCL).

Bison Transport was presented with the SCL/Meridian IQ 2007 Award for Outstanding Vision, Leadership and Innovation at the 2007 SCL National Conference in Toronto last week.

Receiving the award on behalf of Bison were Rob Penner, vice-president of operations, and Brian Kuzdub, senior manager of national accounts.

The award is in recognition of the company’s on-going commitment to building strong partnerships with organizations such as SmartWay and FleetSmart, as well as creating innovative transportation solutions (including intermodal and turnpike operations) to help improve service to customers and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition, Bison continuously promotes the ongoing development of its drivers with “Tatonka”, its award-winning driver-development program.

Bison Transport was also recently recognized for its safety program by winning the Grand Prize of the Truckload Carriers Association National Fleet Safety Award for both 2005 and 2006.
