Leading transportation insurance firms to merge
TORONTO (April 24, 2000) — Hargraft Wood Fleming Ltd.and Schofield Insurance Brokers Ltd., two of Canada’s leading insurers of trucking operations, will merge into a new company to be called Hargraft Schofield Inc.
The chairman of the company will be J. Ross Schofield, currently president of Schofield
Insurance. Ltd. The companies said their combined operations will create a “dominant force” in transportation insurance.
The transaction is expected to close June 7.
