Livingston finalizes acquisition of Consultrans assets

TORONTO July 2, 2002) — Canada’s largest customs broker, Livingston International, said it has acquired the assets of Consultrans Logistics, a third-party logistics company in Oakville, Ont., for between $3.25 and $6.5 million, depending on the results of the acquired business over the next four years.

Consultrans has annual revenues of approximately $4 million, Livingston said.

Livingston said it plans to consolidate its own freight brokerage unit under the Consultrans name and move some of its staff to Consultrans’ Oakville location. Former Consultrans president Stephen Rowe will continue to run the operation as senior vice-president.

Based in Toronto, Livingston has over 70 offices and approximately 1650 employees located at key border points and other strategic locations across Canada and the United States.
