Load sharing site launched for QTA carriers

MONTREAL — Loadsurfer Corp. and the Quebec Trucking Association (QTA) have collaborated to create a private freight matching website.

The new website is for the exclusive use of QTA members who wish to trade excess freight and equipment.

Loadsurfer CEO Roy Thacker explains this customized approach to freight matching was developed to address a growing concern among industry players with problems plaguing traditional freight matching sites.

"Increasingly, we are seeing companies really scrutinizing the trading partners that they do business with," he said.

Thacker predicts that this type of product will increase in popularity in the coming months. "Eventually, we will see more of these smaller trading environments interconnected on a larger scale."

Marc Cadieux, president and general manager of the QTA predicted the association’s membership will put the new service to good use.

"In today’s difficult economic environment, our members feel better doing business with companies they already know," he said. "We are confident that the customized trading platform Loadsurfer has helped us to develop will provide QTA members with an added sense of security."
