Mack adds to E-Tech lineup
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (June 21, 1999) — Mack Trucks has added some grunt to its venerable E-TECH 12-litre diesel engine line-up with a rating aimed at heavy-haulers and other truckers who want to combine high horsepower with low-end pull.
The E7-460XT engine produces peak torque of 1760 pound feet at 1200 rpm. It tops out at 490 horsepower between 1600 and 1700 rpm, and its operating range reaches to 1850 rpm, with torque rise rated at 30%.
The E7-460XT will initially be available in Mack’s CH and CL models, and only with Mack transmissions.
Like other E-TECH engines, the E7-460XT has V-MAC III total vehicle electronics control system and uses Mack’s “High Swirl Injection (HIS) Combustion System,” which promotes the efficient mixing of fuel and air.
All E-TECH engines are covered by a three-year/300,000 mile/10,800 hour warranty that includes 100% parts and labor coverage, and five-years/500,000 mile extended warranty coverage on all major engine components.
